This weekend I went to the drawing session held on Saturdays to practice my skills in life drawing. I've been going to this session each weekend because it gives me the chance to escape and play with a pencil. It's very freeing. The session gives me the opportunity to spend some time to just focus on one thing, the human body. I really enjoy myself during these few hours. I go into my own world and don't worry or think about anything other than the model and my pencil. This saturday I found myself focusing on line. I like to challenge myself and my techniques in a new way each session. I've been getting a lot out of going to these sessions, finding a place of relaxation and peace with art.

Jessica,
Go do this at the Stockshow! Seriously! It will be more crowded than Saturday life drawing sessions, but I think it would be great for you to replicate this exercise with the horses and livestock near by (and near to your heart).

Jessica, these are lovely! Mastering life drawing takes a lifetime - and as Sarah said, can take many, many forms!!!
What kind of horse do you have?
Thank you both! That is actually what I started to have in mind for sketching at the stock show! The more I think about it the more anxious I am to see what I get out of it. Hopefully it''ll be a fun challenge. As for the horses I have at home they are mainly quarter horses. Two of them are certified paints but you'd never know it because they don't look like it, and then I have one thoroughbred!
