Yes. You heard me right. After Hung's critique, I happened to be out of town in Montana and had a lot of time to think about what I should alter my idea based on our conversation. One of the major things she brought it up was that both my printmaking work and ceramics work for my artist statement but printmaking appeared to be stronger for some reason. She gave me a friendly reminder about how this is not my last show, but only the very first. I do not need to include everything I want to do in it. With the fact of me being still new with ceramics, she was saying it may become stronger when I have years of skill. I wanted to include everything because I did not think about everything she told me. She also mentioned that from my self-portrait print, there is a sense of silence and there is really special.
This week, I have met with Chinn to go over all of the measurement and also check out the movable walls form the gallery. I also met with Sarah to learn sewing. I have been practicing every day since then. During class on Thursday, I have discussed with Deborah and Catherine for my final idea and here is the final proposal: I will create an installation using the fabric I mentioned in previous posts. The two major panels will have a perspective of a room and the corner will have a life-sized self-portrait, something like my print. I am really excited for this final spark.
Here are some photos of the sewing I practiced....and the first one was definitely crappy, but I have been getting better.

Keep it up, Ting!
As I said earlier today, you only get better at sewing (as most things that require practice)...not worse. Your last pic looks like the bobbin thread ran out, let me know if you need help beyond the laminated card instructions. Also consider what thread you'll want to use for the final piece (perhaps heavier embroidery thread that you'll need to purchase) and start experimenting with it now, as the tension and stitch length will likely change.
