I am quickly finishing the piece that I showed everyone at the final before spring break. I finished rubbing off paper and I also screen printed my morning glory pattern on one side of one of the panels:
These photos also show off the ink I use which is called interference, these inks change depending on the light. In some cases, they looks very opaque and sometimes extremely transparent. I chose these inks because I didn't want to cover up the photo, yet I also wanted the pattern to be visible.
Next, I'm very excited to have some laser engraving done on the other panel!! Just brought it to plasticare today, and it should be done within this week. The engraving will be the text I read at critique-- I love the idea of engraving so that the viewer will have to make an effort to see it and read it.
Also, I just picked up the panel I spoke about which will stand apart from the two panels and include drypoint etching, patterns and abstract painting (tentatively.)
That will be pretty much all for this first piece, and I'm starting to prepare for the second piece!
