This week I finished one of many layers on my sculpture...
This is my friend Kyle graciously cutting pieces of burlap for me (horray for studio help!)-
I dipped these pieces of burlap in pottery plaster. And slowly but surely,
she came to life!
To complete this section of the body, I will be working on the following layers this upcoming week before I start her hair and lower half:
-paint (muscles)
-papier-mache
-paint (skin tones)
-eco-flex
Deep breaths, good juju vibes!!

Wow!
Tanner - you are taking a path more "process oriented" - but you've committed and are in it -
so go, Go, GO !
The smoothing of the layers may take more time, but you are up to the challenge - just let things dry and be ready to sand - and drapery will work to your advantage also…
keep it up
So exciting Tanner! Were you able to source the aluminum sheeting? Did you contact the theater department yet about borrowing props? Do you know Yasumasa Morimuro's Olympia piece? I'm emailing you an article that you might find interesting....
