Lots of Test Tiles
I also spent time making a bunch of test tiles this week. I mixed 14 different colors of clay with mason stains and slip so that I can start using colored clay instead of painting on top of the surface to add color. They are currently in the kiln, so I'm anxious to see how they turn out!!

I love the idea of permanence and impermanence with these, and COLOR...yet another aspect to exploit, in addition to surface. They're really compelling, and seem to be a merging of two worlds into a new form. Keep at it!
